must dance again! -people of the
world... join hands....-
music, especially highly intelligent
hip hop, that you must then listen
to. Over and over.
going to be in Madison this weekend,
and now I'm so happy I'll be there
too. He is one of the people who
makes Minneapolis so cool. I miss
you, Pete...we need more excuses to
get together.
once took ecstasy at a rave and
proceeded to rant for thirty minutes
about everything that's wrong with the
world. Then he suddenly forgot what was
wrong with the world, so he asked his
brother, "What have I been talking
about?" His brother responded, "Who
cares? Let's dance!" Now this is Pete's
motto in life. He's the best dancer in
the room and his good mood is
infectious: When he's excited about
something, his eyes get all big and
crazy, and then your eyes get all big
and crazy, and then both of you get so
excited that you want to make plans to
end world hunger, or jump up on stage
in the middle of a Dirtbombs concert,
or maybe just blow something up. But
Pete's too much of a pacifist to blow
anything up. He'd probably just give it
a big hug. And that's why everyone
loves him.
to induce tinnitus but he's even better
in person than on the page.
Sometimes I wish I was a pretty girl.
Pete understands.
Manzanera?) once said (or was it
declaimed?) on Top of the Pops (or was
it in the Guardian?), consistency is
the hobgoblin of small minds, or some
such rot, then Peter is a veritable
phalanx of bloodthirsty orcs a thousand-
odd wide and twice that again deep
battering its way into the iron-gated
fortress of the Republican National
Convention to slaughter all inside,
cleaving sinew from bone, bone from
socket, busting helm and brainpan alike
with a single blow, quaffing goblets of
his enemies' blood like Lil Jon during
a brief commercial break at the 2003
VMAs. Except Peter's way cuter than any
orc (even Corey Feldman) and capable of
seeing the good in the most blackest of
hearts, yea even unto Ben Affleck or
Chris Hitchens. He puts the "dam
in "macadamize and takes the "cad
out, and that's not all he does,
sister. Though several decades my
junior when we met at the Paris
Commune, he was already knitting
jerkins and bottling gherkins for the
Sandinistas while I (callow wretch!)
still shamefully dozed through "Angie
reruns when The Workers needed me to
complete my concordance to John
Leland's verse translation of the
Eighteenth Brumaire (recently published
in paperback by Verso). Peter could be
anything he wanted to bethe first
female Chief Justice of the Supreme
Court, Bob Dylan's 115th Dream, an self-
addressed stamped envelope, ANYTHING
but all he wants to be is your friend.
Or activity partner. Valhalla, he is
coming.
HOW MANY PEOPLE I KNOW ARE EVEN
ON FRIENDTSER! THIS IS SO CRAZY! So
oh migosh, I first met Pete when i was
working school nights at Chi-Chi's in City
Center and Pete would come in after work
and drink margaritas until close and we
would just like, talk about music and
relationships and he was always so super
sweet, he would be like "Kristanne, listen to
me -- I know, boys in 11th grade are total
assholes. " and was just like, so funny and
understanding when all I could do was
complain for like 3 hours a night about how
Chad broke up with me the week before
Homecoming because fucking Jenny
Torkelson got drunk and gave him a bj in the
parking lot after the bonfire and then
bragged to Justin Meyer who is the only guy
on JV Cheerleading, and duh, of course I
was going to find out. Whatever, she ended
up pregnant by end of senior year anyways,
she is total skank AND a ho, and I am so
glad to be living AWAY for their stupid Edina
drama and be back at the dorms here at
Depaul. Also, Pete is a total sweeitie
because he hooked me up with tickets to
see System of a Down last summer at target
center. They were so awesome. HI PETE!
to call him once lit a police car on fire simply
by winking at it. his smiles are like darts, soft
hands in the paint, a thick wallet. loves to
spend that money. give him a tickle. he'll
tickle you right on back.
