About Me:
I try to appreciate the little things in life: Kool and the
Gang, chocolate soy milk, old Volvos, and red Converse
sneakers. I also enjoy listening to music, going to concerts, eating stroopwafel, and dancing! I have a very sunny disposition have no shame when it comes to being really cheesy.
I am currently a fellow at Hillel's international office in DC. Now that the March for Women's Lives is over I will return to the exciting life I lead before 1.15 million people showed up on the mall to support reproductive freedom...this includes lots of sleeping, wearing legwarmers from amsterdam, taking tap and wheel-thrown pottery classes, doing yoga, and being a connoisseur of liberal happy hours in the DC metro area ...

Who I Want to Meet:
Bob Dylan, Martha Stewart, Joni Mitchell, my great grandmother (Pearl Gordon), Julia Child (""Mrs. Child was a breast cancer survivor, a cat lover, a fervent advocate of Planned Parenthood and an unabashed sensualist with a sly sense of humor." "Julia Child...Dies at 91," The New York Times, August 14, 2004), Paul and Sheila Wellstone ("There has to be some connection between the convictions we profess and the budgets we propose, or the chasm between our words and our actions becomes too wide. If we don't fight hard enough for the things we stand for, at some point we have to recognize that we don't really stand for them."), Bill and Hillary Clinton, Emile Zola ("If you asked me what I came into this world to do, I will tell you: I came to live out loud."), Gaston Lachaise, and anyone who likes stroopwafel as much as me...

school rec from yours truly:
"Emily maintains a positive attitude and
work-ethic in all of her endeavors. I am
sure that she will continue to devote her
energy, creativity, intellect, and passion
into furthering the field of Higher-
Education Administration.
It is my opinion that Emily has
demonstrated all of the skills and
aptitude of a true leader. I know that
Emily will continue to make headlines
due to her fearless approach to
activism. Her keen attention to detail
separates her from the rest. I
wholeheartedly recommend Emily
without reservation. She is a Jill of all
trades. Emily is a leader in the feminist
movement, an excellent student, an
accomplished chef and cake decorator,
and a reliable and trustworthy person."

and an overall yummy person. i love
when she says "how fun!" it makes me
smile inside and feel excited about

Emily is my little sister, but she is
really my big sister becasue she got a
grown-up job four years before I got a
grown-up job, and she has a "business
casual" wardrobe.
She also invited us over to her
apartment and she makes us dinner,
preferably ending in brownies and us
having a dance party to her Kazaa and
Sonal coming down and us being jealous
of her jewelery.
She likes John Kerry, and I used to
be his florist, so we have that in
common too.
chocolate! I will put my heart and
sole into the fight to bring hot
chocolate back to the DC office. I'll
be damned if the feng shui office
manager gets in our way!
