My preference is for reading plays...The Mineola Twins, A View From the Bridge...anything by Eugene O'Neill especially Long Days Journey Into Night...The Jolly Postman, picture books on urban design, Flaunt magazine...its practically a coffee table book, Blurb & Rent Girl (graphic novels), Pop-Surrealism, The Image Factory, and any rag on ART especially involving Roy Lichtenstein, James Rosenquist, Jean-Michel Basquiat, Marcel Duchamp, Chuck Close, Cindy Sherman, Gary Taxali, Jeff Stoto, Tim Biskup, or Gary Baseman...

Girls Just Want to Have Fun, Goonies, Bye Bye Birdie, Mannequin, Adventures in Babysitting...Velvet Goldmine, Hedwig and the Angry Inch, and anything else touched by the folks at Killer Films! Waking Life and other Richard Linklater films. He rules. Scanner Darkly hits theatres soon! Secretary, Edward Scissorhands, My Boyfriend's Back, CHO humor, Movies about time travel: Donnie Darko, Bill & Ted's, and the Back to the Futures. Oh and Flashdance.

claw-grabbing machines because I left
you to fend for yourself in a place that
was "our's." They never let us take
hiking trips together for fear that we'd
isolate ourselves - which we most
definitely would have and it obviously
would have been great. You got me
into smoking cigarettes b/c you looked
so hot doing it. You dragged me out of
mainstream music for which I graciously
thanked you with Ani and Tori. Oh, and
I'm sure to all those camp people out
there, I corrupted you somehow, maybe
rubbed a little queer-ness off during one
of our snuggle sessions or cycling bunk
races (please tell me you haven't
forgotten these). But most of all, your
laugh is contagious and, despite the
years, you always know and love me for
me.

deprivation. I'm so lucky to be friends
with this girl; if you're not, you
should want to be. She's one of the few
people on this earth that make me feel
so good about myself; she exudes
confidence and love and brilliance and
lucky people get the spill-over. If
you're lucky enough to ever be in the
presence of her infectious smiles and
laughs you know what I'm talking about.
Amanda is truly one of the best friends
I'll ever have. She'll never lie, and
she'll always be there for me. For that
