About Me:
After answering an ad on a musician networking website placed by Wayne Russell (ex-Victims Of Change), Long Island native Rob Leiz knew that he had found what he was looking for--the second member of what would become Unquiet Eddy. The two experienced their uncanny musical chemistry when they wrote their first song together the first time they met. “He came over and we wrote ‘Washing My Hands,’” recalls Russell. Russell was looking to start a project to front, but after several failed attempts at locating a drummer, he decided to get back behind the drums as a drumming vocalist. Leiz (Vocals/Guitar) and Russell (Vocals/Drums) were searching for a solid, versatile, shred-style lead guitarist when they met Wes Liggett. Wes had lived in California and played around the west coast scene for a while. The band drew influences from several artists such as Iron Maiden, Slayer, Black Sabbath, Symphony X, and Megadeth (to name a few) while honing their sound. The three fit well together, but something was still missing. As the three finished writing songs for their first release, they auditioned several bass players. However, it was to no avail. Out of necessity, the three played bass on the disc, and never found a bass player. For live performances, a bass player was replaced with a back-up track.
As the band sets off into 2009, they will have their first official release which is an EP entitled Prey Of Worms. It is a stylized blend of guitar-laden modern hard rock with classic overtones and melodic vocals. Although it is not a concept album, it does use “equality of death” and the “extreme and harsh realism of life” as its central themes. They will be hitting the road following the February release of Prey Of Worms. They are finalizing dates for a summer tour that will take them to several major cities across the U.S.
>>"In the life of a man, his time is but a moment, his being an incessant flux, his senses a dim rushlight, his body a prey of worms, his soul an UNQUIET EDDY, his fortune dark, and his fame doubtful. In short, all that is of the body is as coursing waters, all that is of the soul as dreams and vapours."
