Who I Want to Meet:
HEROES IN THE MAKING....
Heroes are not born they are made. They are people who made the difference in the lives of others People like Abraham Lincoln, Joan of Arc, Helen Keller, C.S. Lewis, Martin Luther King and our very own Jose Rizal have won the admiration and respect of millions of people who were inspired, encouraged and influence by their lives. They are not perfect individuals at all; each of them was completely human flawed in certain ways. Only they showed the way to reach beyond great difficulties to maintain their integrity and honor. They all seemed to teach us the following lessons:
*** Making life counts in the face of loneliness.
*** Moving against the grain of society on matter of principle. (Integrity)
*** Willing to sacrifice and lay down your life for your beliefs. (Commitment)
*** Not giving up your dreams in the midst of adversity with single minded focus
and determination.
*** Pursuing life of service to others rather than a self serving love of money,
fame And glory.
*** Working with passion, working hard and work consistently.
*** Living purpose- driven lives.
In short, Courage, Determination, Fortitude, Vision, Persistence, Faith. These are among the attribute of those past and present that made contributions to society and to the world. Philippines today badly need real heroes. The most ordinary person can become extraordinary by developing their potential and using their unique gifts to be an inspiration and positive influence in the lives of other. We can all be heroes by not as normal all the sleaze, corruption, cynics and evil heaped upon us by the world. We can be heroes by doing our best in what we do by being role models to colleagues at work or to kids in the neighborhood. We can all be heroes in our ordinary day-to-day lives. We can be heroes by resolving to live a life with a purpose, to elicit warm smiles, help clean up or sort out some mess, lighten another's burden, ease heartache, or make a positive difference to even just another human being. The great admired Helen Keller Summed the heart of the matter for us: "I long to accomplish a great and noble task, but it is my chief duty and joy to accomplish humble tasks as though they were great and noble. For the world is moved along, not only for the mighty shoves of its heroes, but also by the aggregate of tiny pushes of each honest worker. James Russell added: “The wisest man could ask no more of fate than to be simple, modest, manly, true, safe from the many and honored by the few.” As we change ourselves, we can move out to change our community, our nation and making this world a better place. Yes, we can all be HEROES!!
