What I enjoy doing:
comic books, cooking, eating, postcards and mail in general, sewing, domestic violence (really more of an interest than a hobby) and, thanks to Sarah Vowell, presidential assasinations (past and future)
-
Favorite Books:
I've been rereading all my Lynda Barry books in the bathroom...It's So Magic and the Freddie Stories are so, um, magic. Nobody gets children quite like she does.
-
Favorite Movies:
Recently...the White Diamond, and Season One of Project Runway on DVD. That so doesn't count.
-
Favorite Music:
I've been listening to podcasts...Popcasting, the 3hive podcast...also The Danforths, of course, and Ernst Reijseger and Feist...
-
Favorite TV Shows:
My free cable has been disconnected by contentious new neighbors. I am reduced to Netflix, once again.
-
About Me:
I just made a stuffed giraffe.

Who I Want to Meet:
Project-doers and wintertime achievers of all kinds. People who know about things to do that aren't in the newspaper.

chicago beaches and stealing anna's
library books to read and carefully
planning perfect times to sit with anna
on the porch and consume pints of ben
and jerry's ice cream. i could say that
anna makes me want to be a better
person, and that would be true although
cheezy... i'd rather say that anna makes
me want to read good books in the
sunshine.
and she likes good food
she throws parties with kissing booths
and knows all the good people
(and she watches the l word, and so do i)
shane would totally dig anna
i know i do
dark and sinister netherworld of
the "Peacock Club" wherein i was
induced to engage in such nefarious
activities as festooning an attic with blue
silk and peacock feathers and
consuming enormous quantities of
sugar.
spend two weeks watching every episode
of Twin Peaks.
tied: Little Miss Sushi Box, vs.
SleepChamp 2004. anna is inspiring in
lots of ways, and one of those ways is
regarding sushi, which, really, you
should just go and have some of even
if it's a little beyond your means.
also she sleeps more than you could
possibly dream of.
also, her thrift skills are totally
refined, so refined that i'd better
not reveal any of her secret methods.
hopefully this will help us complete
our project, which is a comic about a
thrift superhero who can make anything
fit anybody and punishes those who
thrift for profit vs. personal use,
amongst other powers.
anna has pretty much made my year
because her friends are great and so
is she.
and not in the "it's tolerable to live
with her" sense. Like me, she's a
sucker for 'quality' escapist shows (a
la Sex and the City/24), though unlike
me she may only admit it to a select
few... there is no better jeans
shopping buddy, nor a better "my new
friend is my therapist" companion. In
short, Anna B. rules the school. (and
her new cat Ida Crumpet kicks feline
ass)
matched even the apples on the trees
and I was amazed. Now each time I see
her she's wearing an even more far gone
outfit. Q: How can she keep this up? A:
She's an aesthetic accelerator and
there's no slowing down. Barring
inclimate weather or an icy patch.
guess that means the hang gliding is off.
cheap beer it is!
to hit NYC. Anna isn't in NYC. She's in
Minnapolis. I guess that's okay, since
she might get blown away by a 40mph
gust of wind here. But if she were
here, we could hang out and drink some
cheap beer... or we could hang glide.
whichever.
