      • To know Shawn is to love Shawn. This
        guy can mix with anyone - the
        intellectual types, the hipsters --and
        of course the intellectual hipsters.
        Also, I think that I learned all my
        cool slang words from this guy. I wish
        I could think of one of the words to
        use right now but I can't. Shawn,
        you're the best!

      • I love this man, my Shawn Pizzle. I
        could write a book about how much his
        couture collection says about him, but
        that, and his unusually close
        friendships with women and his ever-
        ready opinions on my outfits ("mmm,
        I'm not really feeling it; try the
        open-toed slingbacks") and the fact
        that he knows how to cuddle in the
        sweetest innocuous way, might make him
        seem gay. Which he most certainly is
        not. Nope, this is one raging
        heterosexual in Prada shirt / Puma
        kicks with pedigree like you wouldn't
        believe: Cornell, Harvard Law School,
        Scratch DJ Academy. And, while I have
        no personal experience in this
        department, I hear that he has
        talented hands off the fantasy
        baseball court as well. Nor is Pizzle
        the male slut he is entitled to be--
        all he wants is world peace and for
        someone to love him for more than his
        body and his turntables. The 5th best
        thing about this man is that he loves
        me and since we met I've been able to
        say with all sincerity: "one of my
        best friends is black." The 4th best
        is that he is a patient instructor on
        the intricate history of hip hop and
        explains euphamisms that fly right
        past this "silly white girl", and then
        he asks me incredulously to explain
        California politics (you can imagine
        who gets the more useful lesson), and
        then reads me juicy bits from the
        North Korean Press Service (and we
        laugh wildly). The 3rd best thing
        about P is that he doesn't entirely
        mind that I call him Pizzle (but
        prefers I use a more flattering
        endearment in mixed company). The 2nd
        best thing about him is that he has
        NYC "on lock", as they say, which
        means that there is never a dull
        evening with the P. The best best
        thing about him is that he has the
        deepest truest warmest lovingest heart
        I've ever encountered and he
        incredibly makes every person he knows
        feel special. Maybe we just feel
        lucky to be able to hang out with one
        of People's 50 Most Eligible
        Bachelors, or to have free-flowing
        Cristal at every event . . . but I
        don't think so, because we like him
        just as well at IHOP circa 4am. How
        could you not love a gleaming bald
        head that contains Einstein-style
        genius, taste for the finest wines,
        and a secret plan to run NY politics?
