to Louisville a year and a half a go
and is single-handedly responsible
for introducing me to many people I
now call dear friends. We are both
coinsurers of cheap drinks and I
knew it our friendship was meant to
be when he said, "let's go to a biker
bar the second day I knew him .I
guess the thing I treasure most
about Ben is that I call Ben
the-brother-I-never-wanted because
I'm often the target of his searing wit
and relentless teasing. . I kind of
hope that he knows that as an only
child I've always wanted a brother (or
a puppy) and this really is the highest
compliment I can hand out. That and
heart hands. Ben has made me not
take myself so seriously and
generally makes me feel super
about myself (even as he's punching
me really hard in the arm and try to
make me bruise). Although there are
times, bro, when I've contemplated
locking you in the trunk of a carbut
I'd let you out eventually.
stands about 1 3/4 ft tall. It has red
rubber tires and is just so damn cute.
He likes riding down Tophill Rd really
fast. I like following him while I sit
down on my skateboard.
appearance, i will confess on his
behalf that ben is the guy who's got
such charm and looks that your grandma
picks him out of the crowd and
says, "marry that one!" and if your
grandma's endorsement is not enough,
ben's love for his homestate and laid-
back ways make you wonder whether he
was born with a silver spoon or a corn
pipe in his mouth. my singular
favorite thing about ben: he is always
up for food, drink, and a good time.
