The Cult of the Eye

dancing, karaoke, movies, dressing up, performing, eating good food, designing & creating, reading, writing, parapsychology, Disneyland, exploration and adventure, Cult of the Eye (tm), living life to its very fullest, etc., etc., etc.

Terry Pratchett!, Books on language (word origins and archaic words), true ghost stories, anything on Jack the Ripper, Tanith Lee, Shakespeare, Dickens... My tastes are nothing if not ecclectic.

It's A Wonderful Life, Donnie Darko, Sixth Sense, Frailty, Casablanca, Rear Window, Vertigo, Blade Runner, Bring it On, Ever After, the Wedding Singer, Thin Man series, Moulin Rouge, Strictly Ballroom, Billy Elliot, From Hell, etc.

Swing, Alternative (whatever the heck that label means), 80s Euro-pop, classical, ... I like a whole lot, from Gene Krupa to Barenaked Ladies to Mozart. I'm not so keen on metal, rap, and most country.

CSI, Buffy, Firefly, the Food Network

I'm a romantic to the core. I'm creative and sensitive, and
I cry at sad movies. (Heck, I cry at some cat food
commercials!) I like to think of myself as intelligent, and
I like games and conversations that exercize my leetle gray
cells. I like to dress up in vintage clothing and costumes,
and love to perform. I cherish my friends, and love spending
time with them. I have a weakness for candlelight. I like to
pamper and to be pampered. I could be perfectly happy
dancing the night away, or curled up for a good movie, or
off on a grand adventure, or talking until the sun comes up. My motto is that life is what you make it... If you were to lose everything you own, you would still have your experiences. So whether I go out or stay in, whether I'm alone or with friends, whether I'm on a grand adventure or spend a day in quiet meditation... Life is a gift to be cherished, enjoyed, *lived.* I currently work both as an instructor at the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising in LA, and I contract with Disney as an Imagineer. Seen the new Monsters Inc ride at DCA? I costumed four of the five Sully figures. (cool, eh?) I also perform with a group by the name of "Belles of Bedlam," write lyrics for our original songs from time to time. I'm re-learning how to play the violin, and have ukulele and pennywhistle next on my list. Bongos have a certain allure as well...

Intelligence is a big plus... So is a little bit of
athleticism... I'd be happiest with someone who can keep up
with me. :) Generosity and thoughtfulness are qualities I
admire. Dancing is not a must, but understanding that I must
dance is. What it really comes down to is that I like to spend my time with those who believe as I do that life is what you make it.
