      • About Me:

Sir James Paul McCartney, born June 18, 1942
was popularly known as one of the lead vocalist & bassist of THE BEATLES
after leaving The Beatles, he launched a successful solo career and formed the band Wings
he has worked on film scores, classical music, and ambient/electronic music
proactive in advocating animal rights, vegetarianism, and music education
have been taking part in projects to help international charities

        Instruments Played
Bass, Guitar, Piano, Keyboards, Drums, Mandolin

        Beatles Era...
He met John Lennon and the Quarrymen at the Woolton on 6 July 1957
He & John wrote & collaborated on many songs
Paul introduced George Harrison to John as to be the lead guitarist, though John refuses to,
because of his young age, but he was convinced upon hearing George play
Together w/ Stuart Sutcliffe on bass & Pete Best on drums they formed the Silver Beetles
Later on he suggested the dismissal of Sutcliffe,
due to his lack of musical ability playing the bass
During their tour in Hamburg Sutcliffe left the band after the end of their contract,
so Paul reluctantly took over bass
That time he bought a "now famous" Höfner bass
When Brian Epstein managed the band he removed Pete Best in the line-up,
and was replaced by Ringo Starr
And the rest was history, they’ve made a remarkable
        performance all around the world
They stopped touring after their last concert
at Candlestick Park, SF, August 29, 1966
So tired of the road tours, playing was not exciting anymore,
they have the money anyway, though realizing its very unfair to the fans
the band did quit playing public
The Beatles concentrated more on recording
When Brian Epstein died Sir Paul made an attempt to be the leader of the band
Though his bandmates had not felt the same as his good intentions
He should had lead the band not made the band his back, that was John pointed out
The band is collapsing, complications between ideas was evident,
        different musical influences building up
Sir Paul was more on the pop side, John was more experimental,
George was in love with Indian music,
and as for Ringo getting tired of being the last to ask
Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band, Magical Mystery Tour, White Album,
Yellow Submarine, Abbey Road, & Let It Be, was the result of their unstable studio campaign
Sir Paul persuaded the band to go public again,
but the band showed no interest, specially George
But after long bloody discussions during filming "Let It Be" the band agreed to do so
January 30, 1969 they played on the rooftop of the Apple Building,
it was the last time that the fabfour played public
Afterwards, sadly as expected The Beatles breakup
It was explained that all this time they knew it, but hardly cant accept the fact
It was John who took the initiative to do so, he quit, and was followed by the others
Easy as for John, but Paul was impaired, he misses the band, specially John
Sir Paul took a break in Scotland, pounding his thoughts, and did soon realized its really over
Though as agreed by the band, that the breakup was not meant to be proclaim for the public
Sir Paul still publicly announced The Beatles' breakup on April 10,1970
And so The Beatles ended up their campaign,
and each concentrated with their own solo albums
But In 1995, Paul, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr reunited & released
the first of the Beatles' Anthology albums

        free as a bird...
Paul released his debut solo album "McCartney" on April 1970
Wings was formed in 1971 together w/ his wife Linda
In 1980 he released "McCartney II" playing every instrument in it
He wrote and starred in the 1984 film Give My Regards to Broad Street, featuring the soundtrack "No More Lonely Nights" it reached # 1 in the UK Charts, but the film did not do well
Paul released many albums and never failed to top the charts

        If I Fell...
Paul met and fell in love with Linda Eastman, a photojournalist; they were married in 1969
He adopted Linda's daughter, and they went on to have three other children together
Linda died in 1998 after a long fight w/ her breast cancer
He re-married himself in June 2002 to Heather Mills, a former model and anti-landmines campaigner, eventually in 2006 the couple broke-up
They were divorce in March 2008 and Heather was awarded almost $50 million!!!
