About Me:
I am...odd. Oh, I look perfectly normal, and I even act fairly normal in many ways. But friends tell me nonetheless that I am one of the strangest people they know. I react differently to the world around me than normal people, and rarely in the same way twice to what seem to others to be similar things. What can I say?
I work at Apple doing work on kernel extension support for Mac OS X. I have in the past been a technical writer.
I am vegan, but I am neither rabid or preachy about it. Go ahead and eat your burgers, right in front of me. Just dont expect me to kiss you after you do that (of course, you can generally expect me not to kiss you, but thats a whole nother story!). I am vegan for just about every reason most vegans are, I just don't make a big deal about it; if people ask, I tell them what I know.
I wish I could be a radical punk anarchist like some of my current friends. At least I agree with much of their viewpoints, even as I continue living in the world of capitalism and wonder why. Maybe in another year or two I'll finally make that break.
Another set of my friends is from the neopagan movement. I fell pretty ambivalent about paganism myself, but they are good people, always welcoming, and they encourage me to explore spirituality in whatever ways I find meaningful, whether it's on their paths or not.
I am a bit of a gamer geek, and got over a year+ addiction to World of Warcraft a few months ago. I might start playing again, casually, but that whole raiding-five-days-a-week thing got REAL old.

Who I Want to Meet:
Am I looking for someone? Not really. But Im always open to making new friends. Lately I've been drawn more to people who challenge me gently to grow a little every time I see them. Sometimes I succeed, sometimes I dont, but I always learn something. I am drawn most strongly to healers, people with a strong spiritual sense of their place and mission, people who know how to offer their gifts freely, neither forcing them upon me nor expecting them to be received in any particular way. This is something Im learning to do myself, and its tough, but well worth the effort.

When not at home watching Buffy reruns;
Nik can be found hanging around the
event horizon of a black-hole toasting
marshmellows.
but my quintessential Nik Moment was
when I found out he'd bought a Nissan
Quest and named it Jonny. Get it? Heh.
of movies. Oh, and he likes to dance
around the bonfire at neo-pagan
drumming rituals. What a freak.
curmudgeon :) His one flaw is that CVS
hates him. There's something going on
there.. he must have pissed off a source
control god in a former life. We miss
him at work but I know he'll be back
soon. The vegetarian food in the south
bay is too good...
points to make about him:
1. Nik's taste in music is, above all else,
eclectic. He's introduced me to some kick-ass
nautical choirs.
2. Nik has consumed more indian food in the
previous year than anyone else I have ever
seen eat, and the whole time he's maintained
his boyish figure.
