This was a substitute for art. To legitimize art.
In the interest of responsibility, truth, value.
And a greater beauty.

One day art theory caught up with itself.
But it yet did not know why.
Only that it seemed, yet, more difficult than how.
How was automatic. A joy.
An accident of birth.

But art is not an accident.
Thus, why: why art?
To what measure of judgment, perfection, understanding?
To what, a mark an inch long in an instant?
Upon years of moving one's hand across the page to prepare it?

So much postponement of art to attend to it.
So much death to weigh Creation.
But when art theory overcame itself it had realized art.
Though yet a continuum of stages riddled with error.
Yet another revolution that, to be art, had also to be grace.

Wavelength. Transition. Complementary evolution.
A difference between praxis and theory.
A difference between painting and writing.
A difference between genius and geometry.
It's a ghostly signature.

Intelligent people who creates mimesis and deconstruct aesthetics.
