Paranoid-a prelude
Poem I -the Wielder and the Witness
She stands with a bloody baseball bat on her hands.
The blood drips into the river of misery.
Watch as it washes her clean.
The ‘hapless’ victims lay on the ground,
Deserving of their punishment.
The riot has ended; silence ensues
The crowd stands and looks at her.
They looked shocked as if mindless…like zombies
And like zombies, they are still but shaky.
One of them looks straight at the eyes of the bat and blood-wielding girl.
She looks into the depth of fear.
Our only brave witness dives into her instincts;
And with no apparent reason, she awakens the batter’s conscience.
The two girls’ eyes meet,
And the savageness of the wielder fades.
The eyes of violence turn into innocence.
And the look of that witness ‘pierces’ through the demon’s heart.
