What I enjoy doing:
playing with words (in so many different ways!), random useless trivial facts and miscellenia (mmmm brain soup!), puzzles(riddles, crosswords, sudoku, you name it!), maintaining the precarious balance between being too obvious and too capricious, marvelling at how truth is indeed stranger than fiction, and how pure dumb luck supercedes any other force of nature, finding parking in Sharjah/Dubai (honestly I spend a large portion of my life in this pursuit), art for art's sake, hyperbole, scrabble, comic books (huge collection stashed in my attic!), various racquet sports, and of course cricket!!!

Favorite Books:
Just finished Orwell's Animal Farm ...mindblowing ("All animals are equal, but some animals are more equal than others!")...starting on Conrad's Heart Of Darkness....and have been rereading the entire Tintin collection over the last few months
-
Favorite Movies:
High Fidelity(if you've ever felt there's a soundtrack running to all our lives this movie is for you!! Of course I love it on so many more levels..John Cusack is one of the most interesting actors of this era), Shawshank Redemption(painted in broad strokes yes...doesn't stop it from hitting hard), Schindler's List(presents instead of preaching, without losing any power or emotional impact, a remarkable feat; well except for the maudlin last 20 min, but such a masterpiece should be forgiven such indiscretions no?), About a boy, Memento(tantalising! but satisfying at the same time...love mindboggling stuff like this! Yaay Chris Nolan directing Batman!), O Brother Where Art Thou(beautiful, surreal slice of Americana, the depression never looked this good! Great music, references to the Odyssey are a hoot!), Office Space(parody as an artform! Sigh just crack up thinking about the movie), Jerry Maguire, JFK, Contact, A Beautiful Mind, Tombstone, Mulholland Dr., Il Postino, Dead Man Walking

Favorite Music:
The Eagles, Matchbox 20, Pearl Jam, REM, Chevelle, Franz, Jewel, David Gray, Starsailor, The Cure, INXS, Jack Johnson, Crowded House, Dashboard Confessional (these emo guys are cheesy but a guilty pleasure nonetheless!), Muse, Lost Prophets, Keane, Simple Plan, The Killers, Switchfoot, Coldplay (Well only Parachutes), Sarah McLachlan, Eva Cassidy, Snow Patrol, Jimmy Eat World, Simon & Garfunkel, Collective Soul, Bruce Springsteen, Beegees (especially non-disco), Don McLean, Billy Joel, Michael Buble, more a mixed tape kinda guy ie; tend to like individual numbers more than entire discographies
-
Favorite TV Shows:
Seinfeld, The Simpsons, Conan O'Brien (sheer genius), The Office (gutbustingly guffaw inducing!), Poirot, Sherlock Holmes, early episodes of Frasier, Friends and Everybody Loves Raymond (the years seem to wear heavy on the quality of a show), any detective/legal drama, The Practice, The West Wing, Whose Line Is It Anyway, Arrested Development, Scrubs, Wonderfalls

About Me:
Wes Anderson/Bill Murray films(Rushmore, Royal Tenenbaums, Lost In Translation, Groundhog Day...the latter two involve only Murray) have a subliminally pleasing effect on me....cannot fathom it :) But nice to have something quirky that homes into you like that lol

Who I Want to Meet:
I'm loath to fill this section out, coz one normally ends up specifying a category that excludes oneself.. Have absolutely no qualms conversing with strangers....in fact the stranger the better :P
