Oasis, are an English Rock N Roll band,
They were acclaimed as the second coming of The Beatles
The band originated from Manchester, England

Originally formed back in 1991, "The Rain" was only formed by Paul "Guigsy" McGuigan (bass guitar),
Warren (Wazza) Mackenzie (xylophone), Paul "Bonehead" Arthurs (guitar), Tony McCarroll (drums) and
Chris Hutton (vocals). Later on Liam Gallagher replaced Hutton and suggested the name "Oasis"

The name "Oasis" was inspired by an Inspiral Carpets tour poster which hung in the Gallagher brother's bedroom.
One of the venues the poster listed was the Oasis Leisure Centre in Swindon

While Noel Gallagher was not yet in the band, he worked as a guitar technician for the Inspiral Carpets
He also did auditioned as a new vocalist for the band but eventually rejected
In 1991 after returning from a road tour in America he find that his brother
Liam had become the lead singer with a local band
With his friends Noel watch the band as they performed, and was not that well impressed
Noel approached the group about joining,
though he requested that he would become the band's sole songwriter and leader
"Let me write your songs and I'll take you to superstardom, or else you'll rot here in Manchester" as Noel had said

Now the line up was Liam (Vocals), Noel (Lead Guitar, BackUp Vocals),
Bonehead(Rhythmn Guitar), Guigsy (Bass), & Tony (Drums)
The band's big break came in May 1993 when they were spotted by Creation Records co-owner Alan McGee
four days later he signed the band a contract with Creation

Their first album was "Definitely Maybe" released in September 1994, entering the charts at number one
In May 1995 changes happened again, Tony was kicked out of the band
and came along Alan White as the new drummer
That year also they released their 2nd album (What's the Story) Morning Glory?,
which gained commercial success, becoming the 3rd largest selling album of all time in the UK
The band went to Abbey Road Studios to record "Be Here Now" their third album (released August 1997)

Upon recording their 4th album, supprisingly Bonehead quit the band and was followed by Guigsy
It was thought that Oasis is due to split up but reluctantly the Gallagher told reporters "the future of Oasis is secure"
The band continue recording with only Liam, Noel, & Allan
Noel played guitars and as well as bass thru out the completion of the album

After the album was settled the band search for a replacement
Colin "Gem" Archer, formerly of Heavy Stereo, was approached by Noel to be the new lead/rhythm guitarist
Andy Bell, former guitarist/songwriter of Ride, was invited to play bass,
though he dont play bass at all but did manage to learn it
So that was it OASIS was suddenly reborn in an instant

Oasis' fourth album, Standing on the Shoulder of Giants, was released in February 2000
Despite reaching number one on the British charts it was reviewed as the band's lowest selling studio album
The band releases 2 more albums Heathen Chemistry, & lastly Dont Believe The Truth,
fulfilling their contract with BMG to record 6 albums

January 2004 during the recording of "Dont Believe The Truth" Album, Alan White all of sudden left the band
It was explained by his brother "the spirit of being in a band was kicked out of him"
That made lot of delays in releasing the album, originally set on September 2004
White was replaced by Zak Starkey, drummer of The Who and the son of Beatles' Ringo Starr
Though Zak is not yet proclaimed as a regular member

The band received the BRIT Award for outstanding contribution to music in February 2007
