A PRIVATE COLLECTION
Pamantasan ng Araullo (formerly Araullo Law School) was established in 1950. It was created by virtue of a resolution enacted by a board composed of Judge Lauro S. Esteban, Atty. Mario S. Garcia, Engr. Ceferino S. Esteban, Mr. Valentin Castelo, Dr. Herminia Castelo-Sotto, Ms Priscilla S. Esteban, Mr. Emmanuel S. Esteban and Mr. Ambrocio S. Esteban.
Named after Hon. Manuel Araullo, second Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of the Philippines, the Araullo Law School at that time was founded to meet the growing demand for lawyers arising from the rapid growth of the City of Cabanatuan in particular and Nueva Ecija as a whole.
The school began with a initial class of twenty-seven(27) law students housed in the rented upper floor of the Cabanatuan Peuriculture Center, which still exists today on Paco Roman Street. From its humble beginnings, Araullo Law School grew steadily and achieved leadership in a number of ways. As enrolment and godwill soared, facilities expanded and course offerings increased. hence, from being a law school, Araullo evolved into a college under the official name Araullo Lyceum until finally, in 1983, Araullo Lyceum was granted University status by the Department of Education, Culture and Sports (DECS).
Distinguishing itself as an educational landmark, the University was cited in 1963 as the "Most Outstanding Institution in Central Luzon" by the League of Provincial Governors. Since then, the University has garnered other prestigious awards and recognition.
On April 20, 2004, Araullo University became part of the PHINMA Education Network, a milestone marking the renaissance of a more noble and illustrious University.
The school is poised to be the leading university in Nueva Ecija and in Central Luzon. With the distinct advantage of English communication and information technology, the school is capable of giving education that gives better access to global markets.
Araullo offers elementary, high school, college, and graduate programs. College courses are nursing, criminology, commerce and accounting, education, political science, and civil & geodetic engineering. Graduate programs include Law, Master of Arts, Master of Science in Business Administration, and Doctor in Philosophy.
