Evangeline Lilly, also known as "Evi", has always been interested in social causes. Since age 14, she has been involved in everything from children's causes to missionary work in the Philippines, but she always dreamed of becoming an actress. When she was approached by the Ford modeling agency in Kelowna, British Columbia, she turned down Ford's first offer, electing instead to pursue charitable causes.
Before starring on “Lost” (2004), she worked a variety of other jobs. She has worked as a flight attendant, waitress, and completed oil changes on big rigs while doing commercials and modeling to earn money for University. Evi attended the University of British Columbia where she attained a degree in International Relations.
First discovered by agent Jeff Palffy, formerly Ford Models, now with PMG Management in Vancouver, who was instrumental in her first break on Lost. Lost was the one that put her on the Hollywood map. She became one of the stars of that sci-fi television drama, which scored a huge hit for ABC, and she was named the second sexiest woman in the world by Maxim magazine in 2005.
In 2007, she was nominated for a Golden Globe Award for Best Actress in a Drama as well as a Saturn Award for Best Actress on a Television Series.
Evangeline is also the new endorser of Davidoff Cool Water fragrance for women, and the campaign ads will be released internationally in July 2008.
Her new movie is "Afterwards" coming later in 2008.

Born Nicole Evangeline Lilly on August 3, 1979 in Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta, Canada to a home economics teacher father and a beauty consultant mother, Evi grew up in a faithful Christian household with her little sister. Volunteering was an important part of her life and she spent some time living in the Philippines in a grass hut doing missionary work.
The famed Ford Modeling Agency discovered Evi on the streets of Kelowna, British Columbia, but she turned them down in favor of an education. Wanting to change the world for the better, Evi enrolled in the University of British Columbia where she quickly became active in International Relations by founding a World Development and Human Rights committee. While studying in Vancouver, she eventually signed with the acting division of the Ford Modeling agency and appeared in commercials to help pay her tuition bills.
She was soon hooked on acting after small non-speaking roles in television shows such as Smallville and the short-lived Kingdom Hospital, when she decided to audition for the role of Kate on LOST. The producers fell in love with her complex charm and fresh-faced beauty and signed her to a contract. However, the road to production in Hawaii was almost compromised when the United States immigration laws delayed her work visa and the show’s producers began to recast the role. Evi’s visa was eventually approved and she began what was to become the gig of a lifetime.
Now divorced from Canadian hockey player Murray Hone, Evi is currently rumored to be engaged to her LOST co-star Dominic Monaghan. She is still trying to change the world and spends breaks from filming the show volunteering to work with the poor in Rwanda and projects such as “Just Yell Fire”, an organization aimed at teaching young women how to prevent rape.
Sadly, Evi’s rented house in Hawaii burned down in December of 2006 while she was on set filming. She and her roommates, who are both her stand-ins on the show, lost mostly everything to the fire just a day before the show was set to wrap for the holiday break.
There is no doubt Evangeline Lilly will bounce back from this latest mishap and produce even more fabulous work on LOST and beyond. Evi’s star is just starting to shine and there will be many great things to come in both her career and her personal life in the future.
