To start with the basics - My name is Miley Ray Cyrus, though I have numerous nicknames that I go by. I was born Destiny Hope Cyrus on November 23, 1992 in Franklin, Tennessee. I was named Destiny Hope because my parents believed that I would accomplish great things. As I'm sure you know, I'm the daughter of Billy Ray Cyrus. I have two older half-brothers Christopher Cody and Trace. Trace is the singer and guitarist of a band called Metro Station. I'm a big fan of them (not just because my brother is a member!), so be sure to check them out. :) I also have an older half-sister, Brandi, a younger brother, Braison, and a younger sister, Noah.
I became interested in acting when I was nine years old while my family & I briefly lived in Canada. My first acting role was a guest star on the TV series "Doc". I was twelve when I auditioned for Disney for the lead role of Miley Stewart/Hannah Montana. The Disney Channel executives said that I was too "small", and that I needed to get rid of my Southern accent. But I was persistent, and Disney called me back for another audition.
My first album, Hannah Montana, was released on October 24, 2006. I then signed a four-album major record deal with Hollywood Records to release my own albums. On June 26, 2007, I released a double album, Hannah Montana 2: Meet Miley Cyrus. I wrote eight of the ten songs on that CD. I'm currently recording my second studio album. It will be titled Breakout, and will be released on July 22, 2008.
I still attend church regularly with my family. My faith is still the main part of my life, and is the reason why I have the life that I have.
