I'm an Oscar-winning actress, advertising icon, and a wife of Hollywood fossil Michael Douglas. As a young girl, I sang and danced as part of my church congregation's performing troupe. At ten, I was Annie in a stage production of the musical.
I come a long way from the small Welsh town of Mumbles. Born in Swansea, began my career at a young age, singing and dancing with a local group, which lead me to take up acting.

My first film role came while on a trip to France, when I was noticed by filmmaker Philippe de Broca, who offered me the part of Sheherazade in '1001 Nights'. Back in the UK the following year, I took the part of Mariette in the enormously popular ITV series 'The Darling Buds of May'. My assault on Hollywood began shortly afterwards, but it wasn't until 1998 that I shot Martin Campbell's 'The Mask of Zorro', on Steven Spielberg's recommendation, opposite Antonio Banderas and Anthony Hopkins.
One of my most enjoyable jobs was the all-singing, all-dancing spectacular that was 'Chicago' in 2002, where I played Velma Kelly, opposite Renne Zellweger's Roxie Hart.
I married my beloved husband, Michael Douglas in 2000, We are blessed with beautiful son and daughter.
