When I dream, I'm always in Ohio--upstairs in my closet, trying on clothes that I've never owned, wanting to grow up, not knowing that I already have.
Sometimes I think about getting my hair cut short. Yeah, real short. I've never been a blonde because my eyebrows are too black. But there were all those high school theatre department wigs--always blonde . . . and curly . . . and itchy as hell.

was our mutual lifelong goal to
memorize all the words to rem's "it's
the end of the world as we know it
(and i feel fine)". i moved away, she
went to governor's school and shortly
thereafter i was sent a copy of the
internet's greatness first-hand.
people are still impressed that i
know all the words, and i owe it all to
cathi. i still owe you one, so let me
know when i can repay the favor.

we were twelve, and she is my best
friend. We've been through it all
together: moves, Governor's School with
