I was born on 18th July 1982 to the family of Capt. Dr. Ashok Chopra & Dr. Madhu Chopra, an event that transformed the life of every one around me. I was the first born girl child of a large extended family was welcomed like a star. With large twinkling eyes and the most fascinating smile I am always a winner.
I had a very varied upbringing . Having joined an Army family, I moved from Leh-ladakh in the north to Kerala in the south from Bombay in the west to Jamshedpur in the East . I imbibed the ethos of the multicultural Indian society. A family favorite I grew up in the warmth & Love offered by my grandparents, aunts & uncles. All of this went into the making of a very warm, loving & confident personality.
I started my Education from La Martiniere Girls College in Lucknow as a resident student, A short stay at Maria Goretti College in Bareilly prepared for further studies in the USA. Having completed class 10th from Boston USA.After returning from Boston I received a call to participate in the Femina Miss India pageant to which my parents had sent my photographs without my knowledge. I turned out the first runner-up in the pageant. Incidentally all the three Miss India personalities of the pageant went on to win their respective titles for the year - Miss India Lara Dutta became Miss Universe 2000 and second runner-up Diya Mirza became Miss Asia-Pacific 2000. This was the first time the three titles of an year went to the same country.After that, I went on and won Miss World 2000.There came my movies...
