Bob Bryar, born Robert Nathaniel Cory Bryar on December 31, 1979 in Chicago, Illinois, is the drummer for My Chemical Romance. Bryar joined My Chemical Romance after former drummer Matt Pelissier left the group abruptly while on tour in Japan in 2004. Bryar is the one of two current members of My Chemical Romance who was not an original member, along with guitarist Frank Iero. He is also the only one who is not from New Jersey. He replaced Matt Pelissier in 2004 after being a sound mixer for The Used, following My Chemical Romance's release of their second album, though because he joined the soon after this, Bryar did feature in some of the album's music videos, some even before being made an official band member.[1]
Following this term of filling in as a temporary replacement, Bryar was made a permanent member of My Chemical Romance. Frank Iero has said about him "Bob and [Ray] Toro are the two hardest working people I've ever met, and if there is a God, I thank him everyday for bringing us Bob.
