Who I Want to Meet:
Who knows? I can't put any parameters on such a
thing. I
like people who are literate, who can enjoy simple
pleasures, who can appreciate sophistication but do
not
make their own lives needlessly complex.
I have been very disconnected with Minnesota, but I
have a
strong urge to return and I'm especially interested in
other far-flung people who have Minnesota ties or rural
Lutheran ties (I call it "cultural Lutheranism".

funny, and many, many other fabulous
things beginning with the letter F.
She is also well represented by the
other letters of the alphabet.
most facsinating and exciting people
I have ever known! She managed to
pack more living into one winter than
I have eked out of my entire life. No
really. And my life hasn't exactly been
boring. Oh the stories she can tell . .
. And you should hear her sing --
such a voice! And her fresh baked
bread -- mmm ahhh! All in all, a
person very much worthy of knowing!
So is her darling boy!
regular old overachieving midwest
minister's daughter postfeminist
writer mom...oh, but there's so much
more to it than that. Her stories, her
life, always seem to have this slightly
dream-like quality - they're moored in
quotidianity, sure, and can seem
almost normal until you realize the
singularity of her outlook. They seem
lifted from fiction, really, from some
kind of weird melding of Bridget
Jones and Sex in the City, but with a
literary edge and a Minnessota
plainspokeness about them. Hard to
describe, really. But they're true,
they're just plain true...that's the way
her life is.
