      • Love the new 'do. Even though you're probably wondering what the hell I'm talking about because that's probably been that way for a few years by now.

      • Miss Magic, I miss you too. Well, testimonial...She is a woman of mystery, smartypantsness, sweetness and cuteness. She is the one and only Connie Magic. I think she reminds me of the girl from Kitchen. Read the book and let me know if Im right.

      • You know that wire thing you bring down on a hard-boiled egg to slice it into twelve perfect eggslivers?

Your mind works just like that thing.

      • Backing paper is key. If a framer demonstrates pride in backing paper; sky's the limit. Now, they're going to want to get ya' on some new-fangled red plastic gizmo ergonomically designed specifically for trimming backing paper. Don't bite, the bare bones truth is that if you can't hammer out a respectable dust cover using only a razor blade and your index finger, you've got some nerve calling yourself a picture framer.

      • Now, you're going to need to select a
trusty gun for your ATG dispensing
needs. At first glance the Scotch 700
model seems the obvious choice. The
700 is jam-packed with all the bells &
        whistles, all contained within an
        attractive yellow plastic exterior.
        However, appearances are oft deceiving
as use of the Scotch 752 will reveal.
This workhorse of the framing industry is
stripped to the bone, yet provides
        everything the up-and-coming picture
framer requires. As the Volvo of ATG
dispensers the Scotch 752 is the
adhesive transfer gun I'd want my
        teenage daughter operating.

      • Well, beginning to constantly think of
things in the sense of a side view is as
good a first step as any. Try to imagine
        different scenarios such as substrate,
        artwork, matting, matting, glazing. Or,
        substrate, matting, frame-space,
glazing, and the artwork somewhere in
between. Also, if someone is really
serious about matting they have no
        business wasting your time with
decorative paper mats; you can save
those for your 2D design projects and
what-have-you. Now, some are going to
argue that paper mats provide an
        antiqued appearance, which is pure
        foolishness considering Crescent's line
        of cream core rag mats.
