It's been, like, forever and stuff. How goes it in you world? I have not forgotten you. Mmmm....
rehearsal for Steinberg's Follies. She
did a bit with a ukelele, a feather boa
and midget named Lou. It was wretched!
I later understudied for her on
Broadway...Arthur Miller's little
known "Under the Blueberry Pancake".
The critic from the New York Post
actually projectile vomited onto the stage
just before the end of Act 32.
And finally onto film. Everyone knows
she and I were both nominated for Best
Actress for Kazan's epic "Napoleon's
Festering Boils." and EVERYONE
knows how she won that Oscar.
I say all this to say that I've known the
Diva throughout most of her 86 years in
public life...and she was a BITCH. Now
back in the 30's, when asked, one would
simply say "Desiree was difficult to work
with." But between you and me, BITCH!
And I regret giving her that kidney in '63!

together, I saw a bunch of the plays
Desiree was in.. they were
awesome! She was awesome! I
haven't seen her perform recently,
but I am looking forward to catching

words ever. A mixture of scrapple,
scrupulous, gumption, crumpets,
humpage, pious, raucous, and I'll just
say it, James Lipton, my favorite word
is rumpsteak. But let me tell you
about hot stuff Desiree, the Desired
One. I'd like to create a word to
combine scrumptious (which she IS) with
sassafras (which is DOUBLY is). And
here is that word: SCRASSAFRUMPSHASS.
Put that on a T-shirt, East Village.
She's all woman. Being her friend makes
me infinately cooler than I really am.
She the kind of trouble you just wanna
get into...really get into. Her hair is
amazing. If the Voice Of Lifetime and
Piece of Shiny Exquisite Black Leather
had a baby, it would be Desiree. If I
were "submissive" I'd be her slave and
drive her around places and do whatever
else it is that slaves do. If I where
a "dom" (see, the woman teaches me
things!) I'd make her moo at night and
be on time. Because I am neither, I
will settle on being this vixen's
friend. She makes me laugh, really
hard. And I'm sure some day she'll make
me cry. She is a muse. She inspires me.
I'd drink her lemonade anyday.
a few: she has amazing hair, she punched
michael tapper in the face 3 times, she can
rock a corset like it's nothing at all, she can
seduce even the most straight-laced firemen
AND she shares my unending love of a
certian british transvestite. she's a true dirty
girl.
took me several months to work up the
courage to ask her to be my
friendster. then she sold me a kiss
for a dollar and i was like, "wait a
minute, i can afford this!" it was
worth much more than that, but des is
democratic. and beautiful, and that
minute in her play where she did a
dance was about the most glorious
visual event of my life.
you know you like it, like a hedgehog
likes dominos and sniffin' the roses.
She pushes your buttons and might even
suck on your toes. And at just the
right time she'll tell you no lies,
push you over, taking your hat, and
you'll be the better for it all. I
tell you, she moves like jambalaya and
is just as tasty.
