Charles was hired to do a job I was already doing, but I wasn't informed about it until he called me to talk about how to move forward. despite this set up for total office-mate dysfunction, working with him was actually amazing. I appreciate his terrible humor about 80% of the time, and I've found that if you ask questions about his offensive positions it usually turns out he has another position entirely -- one that's reasoned, sensitive, and well thought out. he is deeply principled, not a hypocrite, and very smart and creative. I'm sure we'll find some way to keep working together... revolutionary technology geeks have to stick together!

we met on a 7 seater plane. i was
distracted by false notions of
inspirational leaders (not charles).
charles brought me back to the
ridiculous true world by being obnoxious
about religion and queer politics. it was
endearing. and so it went. he was good
to me unless he hated me for being a
bad person. and i was good to him
unless he was too annoying to bear. i
love this old boy. He made me cry but
also made me sane (or maybe just
insane enough) to get through & thrive in
what we liked to call a presidential
campaign. he should visit me right away.
