      • Thank God for Laura Close! Who else could defend my honor from the brutish whitecaps of the world with such skill and grace. Seriously, that was the best backhanded complement with the most convincing delivery I have ever seen. I will never have to fight again if laura has my back. Its much better to laugh my ass off while she handles the business. Oh yeah, I am so glad we have been hangin lately!

      • um, i actually don't think you're joking about the blue book thing. I know that before you close your eyes at night nothing soothes you like some no-socializing policy. jargon jargon jargon.

      • Thank you, Laura, for injecting your tree hugging, revolutionary spirit into my workaday world. Your exclamations, antics, and facial expressions are always appreciated. In the future, when people tell me that they are working with Laura Close, my reply will never be "I'm sorry." So, put that in your tea and drink it. I haven't had any of that kind in a while.

      • Despite Laura's many inappropriate and loud outbursts and a general inability to access political, work, or social situation in a manner where she conducts herself properly I cant help but like this girl. Favorite moment: Her responding to Marilyn Sneiderman telling her she was prior Director of Field Operations w/ the AFL-CIO, by saying, and I quote ohh I am sorry. Eliciting Marilyns response of, Im not. Marilyn then proceeded to share their little exchange in her opening statement at our all staff/board retreat.

      • i say this often, but it's often true -- this, my dear, you and me, this was destiny.

our connection was in the works long before you and i had any say in the matter.

        now that, that's tight.

      • i think i fell in friendlove when laura
        talked about young people's career
paths and middle class anxieties at the
        macher conference in chicago...that and
her rendition of both hands, her brutal
honesty, that she's an amazing friend
and was concerned that someone would
be dating someone who sits in the
rafters and her ability to laugh at the
absurdity of it all. i think you should still
ride horses bareback toting guns and
blazing the world on fire - we all need a
little bit more of your spark.

      • Laura rocks my world! she has always
been there when i needed someone to
talk to, and she has always been there
for Angie which pretty much makes me
love her even more. her desire to
change the world is so infectious that
i find myself agreeing to things that
no one else can talk me into. i love
        laura and you should too!

      • So... for $15 and a convincing
        explanation (from anti-oppression
analysis to just wanting to get laid)
for why you like Mos Def, I can try to
hook it up. What is up with white
activist womyn crushing on Mos anyways,
huh? I crush a lot on hip hop artists,
but Mos!?! Little bit cute, but ain't
all that, plus I think he's taken by Alicia.

It was good to see you in PDX last
month. Can't wait to go up there again.
It was interesting to learn that we've
        developed a congruent and coherent
        delusion about organizing, organizers,
        revolution, and radical politics.
        Revolutionary Virgos forever! Much love
        from the Bay, Ramses.

      • Wow what a cute tee-shirt. It looks so
good on you! I'll bet it's union made
in the USA (or maybe Canada).
Anyway, from what I hear, Laura is a
        damn good consensus trainer. I
wish I had time to get to know her
more that weekend. (I'm glad you're
still wearing the shirt--I mean how
can you beat genderfuck flash tatoo
        art?)
