I joined Morning Musume in 2001 as part of its fifth generation. Despite performing poorly at the final training camp audition at both vocals and dance, I was chosen for the hard work and determination I had shown.
I became regarded as the most intelligent member after coming first in the Mechaike Bakajo test by some distance. I went on to become one of the most popular people in the Hello! Project, with photobook and dvd sales rivalling any of the top stars.
However, in July 2006 I graduated from Morning Musume and the Hello! Project to finish my education, and went on to win a place to study at the prestigious Keio University.
I stayed on good terms with the company, making a surprise appearance on stage at the final concert in the Hello! Project Winter 2007 tour to support the graduating members.
In June 2007 it was announced that I would be returning to play for the Hello! Project futsal team Gatas Brilhantes, working it around my studies.
The team released a single as Ongaku Gatas, with me joining them to promote it on television, and perform it in concerts. On its release,I was re-added to the official site as part of the Elder Club.
