      • About Me:

I'm underprivileged, overeducated, too cynical for my own good and, oddly, still believe that, mostly, people are good. I'm not flaky, but I don't take myself too seriously and that sends off the the wrong impression. My sense of humor gets me into lots of trouble. My personal anthem is "My Stupid Mouth" by John Mayer. I currently enjoy his music and the hilarious things he says in interviews. My husband Todd gets really grumpy when I listen to him, which I think is cute. Like I'm ever going to meet John Mayer and run away to be a groupie. (Yeah, and I'm really SO worried about his obsession with Lauren Graham!)

Todd and I have seven cats. That's Doc, Wyatt, Jessie, LBK "The Little Black Kitty" (she wasn't supposed to stay long), and Queenie, Sidious and Maul, who live in the yard. Eight, if you count "Odo" we foisted on my parents. Nine, if you count "Soto Neko" that adopted my parents that we help feed. Ten, if you count the kitten that showed up last week... And Todd's worried about parenthood?!

I don't watch "My Name Is Ed," but I believe in karma. I try to do good things and surround myself with decent people. I'm nice to kids and animals. Most of the time, good things happen to me. Occasionally, tho, I gotta go do something bad. Take a niece to get a tat. Stay up all night drinking seabreezes and coffee. And then I fasten my seatbelt and brace myself. Faith, after all, is just good habits unless it's tested.

What have I learned after surviving a couple of major disasters and staring death in the face once? "Nothing is THAT important." Really. Will you remember that office crisis ten years from now? Have some kids and love 'em to death. Love yer friends. Love yer family. (Well, accept yer family. Love is all about acceptance.) Love yer work. Passion is life without the commercial breaks. Tell everybody you love that you love them because time is the enemy. Hurry. Do it now.

      • Who I Want to Meet:

I have six good friends I have known all my life, despite a lot of moving around. Four of 'em, I actually don't like that much; they just won't leave me alone. During school, and travel, however, there have been so many really interesting people I've met and loved and lost touch with... Are you one of 'em? Where are you now? Are you happy? Settled? Fatter? Taller? Weirder? Do you have a criminal record? Any interesting tattoos? After all that planning and studying, what did you finally grow up and become? (For all that stuff we said in school, I don't know a single fireman or one lousy veterinarian.) Did you finally marry? How many times? How many cars have you totalled or sold? Did you reproduce? If so, how many, and do they look like you? Have any pets? Do you like cats? More importantly, do you want a cat?

And, mathematically, how many connections can I make?
