Delfin P. Mallari III was born one hot summer day of May 26, 1987 in Lucena City.
His parents, Delfin Trinidad Mallari Jr. and Perseveranda Polintan Mallari, fondly calls him “Tsiboy” and raised him in a home atmosphere with their only child as the center of affection.
He received his primary education from a public elementary school near their house in Capitol Homesite Subdivision in the village of Cotta in the outskirts of the city with his maternal aunt as his first mentor.
Interestingly, he grew up not as a spoiled brat which most often was being expected of from a single child in a family. His childhood days were replete with stories of him being a good boy bereft of any mischievousness and other typical troubles among growing kids.
When he reached Grade Four, his parent decided to transfer him in Maryhill College, one of the best private schools in the city. Coming from a public school where everybody’s economic lives reflects a typical Filipino working class, he was able to adjust to the ritzy school environment without any hassle as he easily made friends typical of a sociable Gemini boy.
Tsiboy finished his primary and secondary education in the said school with plenty of memorable tales of experience borne out from his inherent love and social curiosity of the next fellow to him.
After his graduation from high school in 2004, he mulled of following the footstep of his father who is a journalist by profession and works with the Philippine Daily Inquirer as senior correspondent in Southern Tagalog.
But after a deep reflection, he abandoned his initial plan at the last minute and instead took up nursing course in Sacred Heart College. Under the care and guidance of his mentors, he finished the course in 2008 and eventually passed the government licensure examination a few months later.
Tsiboy is communicative and loves to interact with others but quick to draw a safe distance from a hostile reception. He loved to open himself up and share secrets with his intimates but will easily close his guarded shell when threatened with unwanted invasion especially from among brute and intrusive fellows.
Reared in a liberal home atmosphere where curious, inquisitive questions is encourage, he is passionately assertive of his rights and beliefs to the point that most often, new associates misinterpret his position as plain argumentative.
He is fond of new activities that would arouse his being an extrovert. He treasures his skateboard like a pro and usually spent his free time in-front of his personal computer and for several hours competes with fellow online geeks in Internet war games.
Tsiboy also loves listening to latest Ghetto music which he regularly downloads from the Internet.
Occasionally, he dresses himself to the hilt as “real-soldiers” equipped with the “high-powered rifles and handguns” and spend his weekend with fellow “airsofters” in virtual war games in the boondocks and urban jungle using the latest “toy guns” for adults armed with plastic pellets as bullets.
His circle of associates looks at Tsiboy as the “street magician” with his skillful and amazing card tricks which he learned from constant serious practice after watching DVDs and journals of the world’s modern day magicians like David Blaine and his elite company.
Asked of his future career plans, Tsiboy readily declares that he is no hypocrite and admits that just like the other nurses in the neighborhood he also plans to work abroad in search for greener pastures.
But being a pragmatic person, his intention to leave the country is a long time goal. For the meantime, he is focus on working in Mount Carmel Diocesan General Hospital in Lucena City where he was born twenty-two years ago.
