      • About Me:

I like solitary activities; in a past life, I might have been an atheistic monk. I once considered becoming a Trappist monk; unfortunately, the atheism got in the way.

But I'm not really antisocial--I also do things with other people-- especially people I like. But mostly, I spend my time in my room either reading or calculating something using pen and paper. Or using a computer. Or riding around the metropolis on my bicycle.

I read almost anything: from the pornographic to the profound, although my main interests are mathematics and physics. Right now though, I'm back to studying gravity. My collaborators and I are currently solving Einstein's field equations and studying energy conditions.

I'm back to being a student (and teacher) again. I've quit my job as an answering machine, and went back to thinking full-time about physics, and boring students by trying to explain things that they think they have no earthly use for.

I learn by trying to explain something to myself first, then I go around explaining it to my friends so that I could refine my understanding. That makes me a nuisance sometimes, especially when my friends are busy, and I'm very excited by the new stuff I learned.

Right now though, I'm supposed to be studying for comprehensive exams, but keep on getting distracted by manga. There are nifty websites such as mangafox.com and onemanga.com which contain free translated scans of manga--- and one can spend whole days reading through them.

      • To my dear cousin Mike Solis, underrated uber genius and truly marches to his own drum beat, testament to his uniqueness. I wish I could say I know Mike like the back of my hand, but all I have of this guy are my memories of growing up with him and Diwata and his brothers and my siblings and Uncle Nestor's clan, and the little ones back then (Angel, Vic Vic, Akay) and hangin out . . . man, those were the days huh? Imagine where we all are now, and we come from the same crazy ass Solis stock. My fondest memory of Mike was that he was always reading. It didn't matter what he was reading, he was just an avid and voracious reader - - thanks, dude. You taught me a very important lesson: it's okay to be your own person. Just like what Thoreau once wrote, "To be great is to be misunderstood." ~~** LoVe, Janey **~~

      • Every one who became Mike's "student" in theory would probably know by now that the phrase "Philippines is a democratic country" is a myth...and I got to be careful here. To qoute from Lexter "all-powerful, all-knowing, almighty mike".
-Mike is religious (religion does not always mean God-in-a-usual sense of course). Someday he will probably build the Kampon ni
        St. Landau religious org
-He likes to flatter the mathematicians---in a sarcastic way, but atleast it sounded as a flattery.
-he hates rigorous proofs (I wont provide a rigorous proof about this claim)
-he is suffering the difficulty of being intellectually superior and humble at the same time
-ask him for a detailed solution and he will say "Hmm..gawin mo!"; ask him for a hint and he will show the solution, spoiling the problem.
-He is the DCR's advertising executive. Ask him for a good reference and he will hand a you a book saying "Pa-xerox mo..."
