Born in Nagasaki to a fisherman Dad & a Hibakusya Mom (an eye-witness to atomic bomb)

Survived 2 years of Catholic high school in Mid West & 4 years of music school in Boston.

On a path to find myself through art, photography, music, and filmmaking.

6 months after I first moved to NYC in the Summer of '94, I was working as a programmer for an up-and-coming freestyle rappers. It involved programming and looping beats and recording their rap to it. One day, when his posse came in to start a session, they called out, "Yo, Ken-dog!" At that moment, I wasn't quite sure whether it was a compliment, or an insult! Based on their expression, I took it as a compliment. Even today, it makes me smile when I hear someone say, "Yo, dog!"

Painting and queer API organizing are my therapy. I find it empowering to contribute to queer API causes, and I hope to make a difference in our struggles..
