About Me:
I moved over here in October 2004 to work for an evil defense contractor at Hohenfels Joint Multinational Readiness Center.
Tiring of country life, I made the move this past May to a place with more than one restaurant and several traffic lights - Amberg. Now that I live in a proper apartment less than half a mile from a city rail station, you guys no longer have an excuse not to come over.
I have been dating Christoph since November 2005. He's a German with a PhD in mechanical engineering and far less interest in the German national soccer team than I have. Main quote from Germany's World Cup Summer: "Amanda, could we not watch so much football?" In his defense, he also defies the stereotype of the German male who loves his car more than he loves his woman - he cheerfully lets me drive his car and shrugs when I grind the gears.
This poor, misguided soul is also attempting to teach me how to sail. The process is going about as smoothly as teaching me how to drive did.
