About Me:
In a nutshell, http://www.laurenwheeler.com.
I'm a video game producer, recovering slam poet, improv comedienne, and go-go dancer. I like to play around behind a set of Technics and am determined to bring about the uprock revival in clubs all over San Francisco.
I love living it up and taking it slow, though not at the same time. Also, I want to join the circus and am fond of staring into space. I like to giggle.
When asked if the glass is half-full or half-empty, my usual reply is that I'm taking twice-hourly measurements. I have a pit bull named Java the Mutt and want to be a dog in my next life.

Who I Want to Meet:
Artists, writers, musicians, dancers, teachers, coders, "idea" people, and other witty, rhythmic members of The Intelligentsia. Fun, laid-back folks with a sense of humor: come on in. Drama monarchs: closed for business. Good-natured snark is always a plus.

Testimonials and Comments for Lauren
illustrious praise? the toughest and
sweetest wordsmith i've ever met-not
to mention sensitive, caring, loving,
talented and hilarious. i'm going to
miss having her around the house to
laugh and commiserate
with...though her move provides an
excuse to go out late in the mission
more...but don't you forget-always
gots *oaktown love* here at the
palace, baybee.
sweet and loving soul.
artistry and personality. She makes a
great quasi-roommate and I love how
she is full of laughs.
the upper hand at the barganing
table?...or, are some memories to be
cherished with laughter or with heads
burried in the sand?
good person to get into a heated
intellectual conversation, a damn good
backgammon player, and yes the only
person I ever really could dance
together with - hardcore and free that
is. We met at Cornell through Stella's
I guess. We had a crazy summer
together in 1999, and that was the
sheite! She my friend no doubt.
phenominal folks I know. An amazing
writer, good dog mama, and snappy
dresser. In a fight with "the man",
I'd place my bets on Lauren.
is to know brilliance. To talk with her
is to know you are discussing truth. To
love her (in my case, you can get your
mind out of the gutter) is to feel the
intended meaning of the word.
My sister in the power of ink and my
friend in the word:
May everyone give you the love and
respect that you deserve.
brilliant people I know, she's the
original SuperFly, and can write a poem
that slices and dices with more
precision than a Kenmore appliance -- I
mean, with more accuracy than...
than... somethin. Dood, this chick is
the original Wonder Woman. A real-life
Athena. A Shiva en persona. Isis in
blue Reeboks...
gorgeous, and echoes so much of what I
know about Lauren.
I'd just add one thing: word has it
she has a mean right hook. ;)
Yes, she writes poetry that makes your
brain sing and your heart think.
Yes, she dances in ways that make some
parts of your body weak and others
godalmighty strong.
Yes, she's fucking brilliant and can
conversate a subject until it's flensed
and bleeding bright truth.
...but put your checklists down and
look closer. Don't let these amazing
signifiers -- poet, beauty, danser, dj,
truth-seeker -- blind you from the
generous, warm, and slightly fragile
core of love, humanity, and human-ness
that makes knowing Lauren so rewarding
and wonderful.
