characteristics immediately come to
mind--a key player and founding
member of the cd exchange program,
king of the fast table and a questionable
at best score-keeper. you are one of
my favorite baseball watching partners,
because let's face it, we're both good
luck. and of course, i will be forever
grateful to you for introducing me to cold
stone. although we didn't really
communicate in college, as you were
too busy playing the role of 'park's
golden boy', we do have the IC
connection. oh, and by the way, 'i been
done'.
It's this time of year, when the leaves change, that
I think of our time back in 'Boken. That I think of
you in your longcoat screaming "god... damn, it's
COLD OUT THERE!!!!" and brandishing two
silver, custom pistols, each engraved with the
words "STONE COLD" in some kind of gothic font.
And you, striding into Deno's, pointing at the
frightened diners as they half-chew half-gag on
some "al dente" gnocchi dish that had been left for
them by Victor, the new hire who crouched
quivering behind a booth in the back of the bistro.
Yes, it was indeed one year ago that I had lived on
your living room floor, gratefully scrubbing dishes
by day and escorting you and your entourage by
night. If you didn't go to Strong Island every
weekend, I'd say "see you Friday" but as it stands,
I'll say "see you soon, pard."
Three cheers for Rick Stone!
jealous that I do not have a testimonial on it...I
mean after all, your brother is your brother. 4
little letters one big word, and Rick has one
giant HEART of GOLD
for introducing me to "The Gambler" by
Kenny Rogers. That song has done for
me what pornography does for most
people. I've never not laughed around
Rick, nor have I ever been sober around
him. He's the kind of man you would
like to meet alone in a dark alley. His
facial hair is an open invitation for a
wild ride. His glasses say "I'm
studious" while his sister always
says "yes". You are dear to me Rick,
the Grey Goose is on me.
in his house right now. It's a great, great
thing! I'll tell you this: tonight, his sister's dog,
Pebbles ate my one and only tooth brush.
Without blinking an eye, Rick reached into his
pocket and gave me money to go buy a new
one! That's just the kind of stand-up shit he's
into. Three cheers, everyone.
have a face made for radio...it is
amazing how that works out.
