Dalit is a native dialect. Meaning to “offer”. Since Tangub was created as a city in 1967, the people and city administration observe a yearly anniversary celebration. The city anniversary is an eleven-day affair, which starts on February 18 and ends on the 28 every year.

Each day is highlighted with the special features significant to the day's celebration. However, the most remembered day is February 28, the City Charter Anniversary day. The day begins with a birthday serenade, commonly known as mañanita in the parlance of the Catholic parishioner's, for city Mayor Alfonso D. Tan. A city anniversary Mass is held at the city plaza, after which a colorful public parade, participated in by the different public and private agencies is made around the city streets. The Tangub City National High School cadets performed a pass-in-review.
