Travel travel travel, Music & Arts, Cooking. Eating, too. And drinking. Maybe too much drinking.

I used to read and enjoy a lot of "Angry Man" literature about tortured, embittered, or repressed old men... like F. Scott Fitzgerald, Ernest Hemingway, Milan Kundera, Kazuo Ishiguro. I've since gotten on some meds and I'm into more uplifting stuff, like immigrant fiction. Life of Pi, The Namesake... that kind of thing. I love cookbooks, too, with big yummy pictures.

Yeeehaw, Jester's dead! I tend to dislike "message" movies... stop buying oil, stop hating minorities, stop eating babies. Whatever. Bring on the casual fare... Philadelphia, Hotel Rwanda, Schindler's List. You know, stuff I can laugh at.

Lots of stuff. Almost anything that's not squarely in the mainstream, and I'll even listen to some of that. You know, so I can stay young. Be hip. Stay cool. Lately I'm really loving Sigur Ros.
