About Me:
At first glance, Raymond Oliver Cruz may be just one of the young men gifted with good looks and nothing more. Well, as I aged in show business,i am proving my critics wrong.
I was born on July 20, 1989, in Manila Philippines. I am one of the sons of Elizabeth Cruz-Ilustre and Rodolfo Ilustre Sr. I have two brothers, namely, Rodolfo Junior, also known as Rodjun, and Omar.The former famous dancer, having recently won the first round in You Can Dance, a weekend dance extravaganza.
The 5'10 ½" young lad isn’t a stranger in the entertainment industry. For one, I belongs to the illustrious clan of Cruzes. My cousins include Sheryl, Donna, and Geneva, all famous actresses and singers. I first started out in GMA 7 as a child star. When I am 9 years old, I acted alongside Ara Mina and Joey de Leon in a comedy sitcom entitled Kiss Muna.
Later on I decided to move to ABS-CBN where I started out as one of the members of Anim-e, a dancing group composed of young boys. We usually perform in different variety shows, including ASAP Mania and MTB.
My big break in TV same when I was asked to play the role of Red, one of the leading characters in Spirits, directed by critically acclaimed Chito Roño. I also worked together with Claudine Barretto , Diether Ocampo , Bea Alonzo , and John Lloyd Cruz in the popular soap opera Ikaw Ang Lahat Sa Akin. Though my character was killed in the end, my dramatic performance as Nat earned my considerable positive reviews. I also get to play biographical roles such as the life of Billy Joe Crawford in Maalala Mo Kaya, which didn’t only showcase my acting and dancing skills but also my singing abilities.
