crazy boy named todd lieberman. he
told me we'd totally get along but she
sounded so important-director of the
MuralArts program, how much cooler can
you get? and i was intimidated. now i
know her and understand that Ariel is
also an anti-intimdationist. and now
she is my thesis advisor, mentor, and
general partner in crime. watch out
for our overthrow of the infamous 2020
Philadelphia dictatorship run by
another Philadelphian we all know and
love... but who shall remain nameless
It's a very tempting offer...
Not only does she come from the smartest
family in the world, but she is my
bestest friend from Penn. We have
gotten along famously ever since we were
floormates our freshman year. Then we
bonded over our dysfunctional work
environments in Philly. Ah yes, the
good old days. But now we have parted,
she is in Beantown and I am in DC, all
in the name of higher education. She's
a keeper.
frozen pizza into the oven. Ariel's
idea of "making pizza" is making the
crust and toppings from scratch,
complete with a search for yeast aided
by the fish man at the supermarket. My
idea of a late-night snack is eating
ice cream out of the tub or snacking on
cheese and crackers. Ariel's idea of a
midnight snack is baking blueberry
muffins or chocolate chip cookies.
Where does this leave me, her roommate?
Happy and satiated. Ariel is one of the
few people I know who never tires of
intellectual, philosophical
conversations. She constantly
challenges me to think about
everything, from hydrogenated oils to
deconstructionism to the religious
meaning behind "Hands" by Jewel. I'm
happy to get back to our 2214/N-1 roots
in good ol' Apt. 2, with Ariel as my
roommate once again.
