"The King of Comedy"

He's the man we dubbed Robo-Kimi, the Finn who lets his car do the talking and his mouth do the mumbling.

When McLaren boss Ron Dennis said that Kimi had a wicked sense of humour we all saw it as a case of team spin. There had been no evidence from his countless appearances at press conferences and during stuttering TV interviews. While DC was the consumate quotemaster, Kimi was surely the driver with special needs.

Until...until ITV went behind the scenes with McLaren for the German Grand Prix.

The team followed Kimi on his driver duties and showed him attending a meeting with the Hockenheim marshals.

Raikkonen then drove the ITV crew away from the circuit back to his hotel in the luxury Mercedes that the team had provided. As he cruised along effortlessly he passed some sweaty joggers. He glanced at them casually and realised it was Fernando Alonso out running.

He said nothing, looked in the rear view mirror, then with a totally deadpan face said: "they don't get a car from Renault, do they?"

Cue guffaws of laughter from the ITV crew.

F1 and comedy share one essential thing - timing. Kimi's got it.
