In the beginning, there was a form, and the form was energy. It was an indescribable shape, a color, a tone, a reverberation, and the reverberation grew into a billow, then a force, then a connection. The connection became four young men, ostensibly unalike, internally united. The Energy was born before anybody knew exactly what was happening. From humble origins, playing local clubs and unheralded haunts, The Energy has emerged as one of the up and coming bands of the New York City music scene. Playing at venues such as Highline Ballroom, the Mercury Lounge, main stage of The Knitting Factory, downstairs at The Middle East, Harpers Ferry, and much more, the band is sharing its love for music with the world. Carrying messages of hope, personal struggle, ideology, and social consciousness, The Energy has opened for National Acts such as Nine Days, Keith Kane of Vertical Horizon, VAST, Colin Hay, and Flickerstick, to name a few. Z100 selected The Energy from a pool of thousands of artists, internationally, for its contest New!, which dedicates a portion of its website to emerging musicians. Additionally, the band has two albums, "Awake" and "Climbing Palace Walls" (engineered by Dae Bennett at Bennett Studios). The force is growing. The dream is burgeoning.
