Matt is 168 centimeters tall (5' 6),
weighs 52 kilograms (115 pounds), and his blood type O.
While his hair color was never revealed in the manga, the anime portrays him as having dark, green-tinted brown hair, while the video game Death Note: L o Tsugumono (L's Successors) portrays him with silver-blue hair. An image of Matt without goggles is shown in the anime guidebook, revealing him to have dark blue eyes (and eyebrows, unlike L, Mello, and Near). A 13-year old Matt appears briefly in a flashback to Wammy's House in the post-series oneshot (the flashback set around the time L decided to take the Kira case). This is the only appearance of Matt as a Wammy's student in canon.

Matt (Mail Jeevas)Matt (マット, Matto?), whose real name is Mail Jeevas (マイル・ジーヴァス, Mairu Jīvasu?), is a cohort of Mello's. A character in the manga and anime versions, Matt was also a former resident of Wammy's orphanage; Ohba described him as the "third most talented member" of the house.[6] Matt is Mello's helper[6] as Matt performs espionage work and acts as an accomplice in Takada's kidnapping, which results in his death when he is shot by Takada's bodyguards. He is voiced by Tomohiro Nishimura in the Japanese anime. He is voiced by Drew Nelson in English, marking his anime debut.
According to How to Read, Matt enjoys video games[6] and dislikes going out. He also seems to be a chain smoker. He uses his last breath to smoke his cigarette. He is also behind Near and Mello in succeeding L.
