My uncle, Philip Salvador, is currently one of the more famous actors in the Philippines.
* My late great-grandfather, Luis “Lou” Salvador Sr., is a legendary Filipino basketball player who played for the Philippine national basketball team several times during the pre-war era. He later became an actor himself and then became the first showbiz personality to run for the vice presidency of the Philippines when he placed third in the 1948 Philippine vice presidential elections.
