Real athletes swim...everyone else just play games.Swimming isn't just an obsession its life.
There r 2 kinds of people in tis world, swimmers & people who wish they were.If swimming were any easier it would be football.The question isn't who is going to let me. Its who is going to stop me. Its not how good u are...its how bad u want it.Gold medals r not really made of gold...they r made of sweat determination and a hard to find alloy called gold.
Real swimming is about those last laps, when the music in ur head is gone, ur arms are dead, ur legs feel like anvils. & all tat is left is the power left in your heart, tat brings u all the way in. Once u r on the block, nothing matters but the race. When u go into a race thinking & "What if", u'll come out saying "If only". If u go in thinking "I can" u'll come out saying "I did".
Just because u swim doesn't make u a swimmer.
"Winners train, losers complain..." When ppl ask me what sport i play...i say i dont play, i swim.Practice makes perfect is myth, the truth is, perfect practice makes perfect, but yet no one is perfect! I've been told swimming is a wimp sport, but I don't see it. We don't get time outs in a middle of a race, we can't stop and catch our breath, and outmost, there are no substitutions! Not all athletes wear shoes!When life tinkles in your pool of dreams, add chlorine and keep swimming. U'll have time to breath after the race!
U know when u love swimming when u hit the water all your troubles seem to leave you, and when you can have the worst day of your life but when you dive in and concentrate on the water you feel relax and feel like you are out of your body and in a different world. You crave the competion of racing against a girl that might be a little faster and you nedd to beat her. Thats when you know u love swimming.
