About Me:
It is difficult to put in words how Frontline was formed. But more than that, the band would find it harder to identify their genre. The reason behind is that each member came from different musical environments, musical experiences, and some even played different instruments before joining the band. While still getting acquainted with their individuality, the guys are simply playing along the lines of rock music and some unusual twists.
The vocalist, Praise Crisostomo, wasn’t really into being lead vocals and screaming herself out, but was strumming guitars in other bands before getting on board. Also, behind the great keyboard licks of Emmanuel Malabo lies a hidden groovy bassist, which was just a dream that now became reality by making bass lines for the band. The formulation of their music begins with Joshua Muñoz, who has been into punk/rock to hardcore bands, introduces a stimulating guitar riff which lays the foundation of a song. In addition, Jeriel Laraño infuses another flavor from the drum beats of his reggae/ska background and a couple of double-pedal tricks with some simple syncopation. The equation is made complete and is wrapped-up by the pure-aggressive-rock attitude of guitarist Nathan Gajudo, who is the band’s greatest head-banger.
Since last year, 2007, the band has sped up in creating more songs which included the band’s anthem, “Emergency.” Although they haven’t been in big gigs, the band has slowly marched into the music scene and has drawn attention from small events with the support from their friends and other people who only knew them individually, however believed in them as a band that has the right to be heard and has something to sing about.
For the people who have heard their music, they would easily acclaim that they sounded like Flyleaf or Paramore. But the band would otherwise confirm they have been listening to bands like: As I Lay Dying, Sleeping Giants, War of Ages, and August Burns Red. If you ask them what they wanted to sound like? I’m sure they can’t give you one specific answer – which clearly explains the eccentricity but also the uniqueness of the band. The common thread that weaves them together is their positive-clean-fun outlook and appreciation of life amidst all chaos and uncertainties.
Frontline is moving on, not only as a band, but as a stand – making a standard of music and life, rocking out with their best, and their faith in the frontline.
