I am a 31 year old American studies grad student and photographer. I’m currently preparing for my comprehensive exams. Ask me about them and I’ll quickly change the subject. I used to teach a pretty kick-ass Women’s Studies class, but now I’m doing my paid work as the Assistant Editor to the journal, American Studies. I also shoot party pics for Lawrence.com—which means I officially get paid to party. Fuck yeah. Oh, and I have a photo show at Henry’s the whole month of December!

I've done a lot of activist work over the past 13 years. From starting a high school recycling program to protesting the sanctions in Iraq during Clinton's term to protesting the IMF and World Bank and Bush's inauguration, I’ve protesting this war, that war, this economic policy, that corporate policy, but I also believe in building alternative communities of resistance and though alot of that has been pushed to the side to finish grad school, I like to support other people's projects. I've had a 15 year love affair with independent media and want to see it survive despite the fall of the Independent Press Association. I like to attend events at the radical library and infoshop, Solidarity! located at 1109 Mass. Street in Lawrence--if you're ever in Lawrence you should check it out! I like to facilitate meetings and workshops and have conversations about how radical communities can better support each other.

For fun I like watching bad television, going to shows, going to the movies, chillin’, playing boardgames, listening to music, and making food with friends.
