Music theater with Sondheim and Bernstein my favorites. I recently saw a brilliant "Sweeney Todd" in London. The best pop is Sinatra, Bennett, Garland, Clooney, Holiday, Ella... classical to relax. I was actually into Johnny Cash as a kid. Surprise.

I seem happiest when one day does not in any way resemble the next. So traveling abroad for weeks or months with hardly a planned schedule or even a destination sends me to the moon. That said, my home life with Charles, my partner of many years, is the most important thing in the world to me, so go figure... overly "ordinary" days can get me into brooding, but luckily being with Charles makes most days extraordinary.

Interesting people who have a real sense of the world beyond the U.S borders -- way, way beyond. Many of my best friends are from far off places. Charles and I love meeting fascinating, interesting, and adventuresome people. People always ask, so as for monogamy I like to quote the great playwright John Patrick Shanley: "Monogamy is like a 40-watt bulb. It works, but it's not enough."
