About Me:
back to my roots: made koreatown my home this year. i'm a womyn whose life is dedicated to struggling for social justice, as all people deserve the right to having their basic needs met (food, housing, healthcare, education, etc.). the means by which i fulfill this is serving in urban education and changing the nature of it. working in the community of watts has grounded me. i love my kids. their parents are so awesome and supportive. the administrators are... a different story. the whole bureaucracy is some messed up ish. i support and advocate for organizations/coalitions that exist to serve that such rights are met. u'll find me at rallies and marches for immigrant rights, workers rights, and at events that are anti-capitalist, anti-imperialist in nature. i truly believe in the power of the people... si no hay lucha, no hay victoria.
my life revolves around my kids and how best to serve their needs and help empower them and their families. i want for my 3rd graders to learn the history and skills necessary to critically view their world, rather than just buy into it. they're some of the brightest, wittiest, and cutest students anywhere. come to my class and see for yourself. watch them change the future...
if u know me, u know i'm always busy and always have something to do. if u'r in my circle, u'll be sucked into my lifestyle and will be constantly harassed to play soccer, attend events and marches, volunteer, go to dinner, go dancing, all back to back. it is my life and i'm livin and playin hard. =)

Who I Want to Meet:
i'm blessed with the friends and people i have in my life. =) but i'm always open to those who are like-minded, politically left, and struggle for justice.

orders the dish at the most spicy
level. then she proceeds to add a
mountain of red pepper on top of the
already crimson soup. watching her
eat that makes me wonder how her
tongue can ever survive such constant
onslaught. but after all, given her
ethnic background this should come at
no surprise. what's also not a
surprise is that she's a great teacher
and a friend. not everybody becomes
what they've always said they'd be
when they were still in high school.
Ms. Janet, you're like, the coolest
teacher, ever!
than her....she was cool tho, she gave
me a good grade =D if you ever need a
job hook up, my brother's a teacher,
and his wife's a principal
always good to see her when she drops
by ucsd and when I see her online.
Hehe, but aww, miss those hugs and the
talks and all. Very kind person, says
really nice things, ya know? and means
them, too! She's sincerely a good
person at heart and it shows! I
remember she was at a hard worker in
the orgs, and I wish I could see what
she's doing now, but I hear good
stuff. Yeah, she's always been an
encouraging person to me, and because
she's someone I very much look up to,
it really means a lot to hear her
words. *hugz* d:-D
about janet. she's almost got my
bday, too like jazz. okay first
thing... this girl can SHRED like no
other. we've shared many a daydream
about fresh powder. second, this girl
is sooooo talented. she surprises me
w/ new skills all the time. third,
puzzle figher... don't bother
challenging her. you're gonna lose...
badly... fourth, janet is out to
change the world one student at a
time. don't stand in her way or u'll
get run over. she's also a cutie and
a sweetie (but a bit oblivious), but i
luv her to death.
talk more! we have so much in common,
seriously, it's scary sometimes. go
cancers! when i think of you, i always
feel the urge to work harder so i can
be like you. i admire you in so many
ways. you're on your way to being a
social justice educator and wow,
that's a feat in itself. you're
strong, beautiful, loving, caring,
generous, amazing and wonderful... and
you're my friend! how lucky am i?!
know that your friendship means a lot
to me and i always feel better
whenever i talk to you. you're one of
the few girlfriends that i can gush
to. haha. you know "girl talk"... you
are truly a gem. i love you! you rock!
in the two years that I've known her.
I mean, she may suck ass at foosball,
but I try not to hold that against
her. A word to the wise: if she
challenges you to a deviled egg eating
competition, WALK AWAY. Ok, ok, in all
seriousness, I would not trade my
friendship with Janet for her weight
in gold. I'd probably cry and shake a
bit, but in the end, I'll take Janet
over a small fortune any day.
