i used to have hobbies, now they count as my full time pursuits. at the moment this includes baking cookies, playing with my cat, homework (statistics!), reading news on the internet, endless amounts of forms to fill out, eating sushi

the alchemist, the harry potter series, the lord of the rings trilogy, siddhartha, prodigal summer (really, anything by barbara kingsolver), a beast in the garden (about cougars), childrens literature to escape the harsh reality of the world, cheap used books i pick up at yard sales- i love the fiction, baby! am currently engrossed in "the graet influenza"- scary and endlessly fascinating

if you know me, you know that i have lived in the pop culture void most of my life. if it's a movie everyone else has seen, i've probably read the review and know a few lines, but have never found the time to sit down and watch it. everytime i think someone is clever and has these cute little quotes, it turns out they're just referencing movies i've never seen.

i'm bored with all the cd's i own and can't afford anything new, and if i could, i wouldn't know where to turn next anyway. help me!

i'm funny and easy to talk to, but then i'm diificult and a pain in the ass. i like to go and run around on adventures, but i'm also a homebody. i'm pretty smart, but often lack common sense. i'm sensitive (i mean really sensitive). i'm an open book, a bleeding heart liberal, a believer in the power of the people to overcome the obstacles of oppression. i dream of running a progressive family health clinic in rural upstate new york with my mom and dancing maniacally 'til the morning comes.
i just back from a week in mississippi, and plan to go back in march during spring break. it's pretty much a total mess down there still. anyone interested in a week of hard labor and sunshine rebuilding in biloxi?

i want to meet dreamers, philosophers, cat lovers, old ladies with good scarf patterns to share, optimists, activists and people who laugh a lot. also rock stars, professional cheerleaders, religious mystics, honest politicians and madonna.
mostly, i want to meet people who don't either bore me to death or annoy the shit out of me.
i'd also love to meet anyone brain-damaged enough to date me. now that i'm medicated i'm less of a good time, but more stable.
