Ratzinger, Rahner and Kung. Radical Orthodoxy. Non-metaphysical Theology. Ecumenicism. Conciliarism. Old Catholics. Textuality. Objectivification. The relational-Self (even though I probably don't believe in it). Non-denominationalism (even though it freaks me out). Fractal Psychology. Water. Raspberries. Coffee/shops. Boutique browsing. Ankle support. Microbrews. Visiting. Fresh air. Sarcasm. Family. Friends. Strangers. The utility of scarves. Temperature control. Sushi cravings.

Favorite Books:
the paranoid, dense, novel (Rushdie, Pynchon, Gombrowicz, Conrad, Calvino). the mindfuck of a short story (Fitzgerald, O'Connor, Pynchon, Calvino, Parker). the occasional poem (Parker, Rilke, O'Hara, Yeats, Beowulf). Now I'm reading lots of augustine, and a collection of essays on religion and the end of metaphysics edited by bloechel, and something about the 'battle for vatican ii' which is just groovy.

Favorite Movies:
primarily, lateley: Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Brick, Dear Wendy, Beowulf and Grendel, Police Beat. Also: wit and style (the thin man(s), serenity); psychological density (kontroll, apocalypse now); suppressed accents (hackers, batman: beginnings); melodramatic bathtub freakouts (splendor in the grass, constantine); picturesque ambiguity (northfork, picnic at hanging rock)

Who I Want to Meet:
I am 5 IQ points away, says Tickle, from being 'professor' material. I would like folks to fix that. Or make me forget all about it and think about beer and/or popsongs instead.

Why is Jen the coolest.....Not only will she tolerate complete lunacy like tea with Bush and John Kerry (pictured above) but also day to day life with me. She has a great sence of humor and an even better vocabulary and she always has something inciteful to say to center me. She is an awsome friend and I ma so luck to have her in my program and life. Oh yeah and she has great pants.
AND my first testimonial in, like, a year.
can't beat that with a stick.
I once had a partner in Quizzo
who (comparatively) was a wiz. Oh!
Her singluar strut
and knack for self-haircut
merely hint at how hardcore she is, though.
Congratulations Real World Philly
Class of '05.
to tell the two of you to mellow out...if you were
any more relaxed, you'd be dead." this is exactly
right. if you want to get a mug of coffee, wander
around the city, and have no bullshit or drama, jc
is your girl.
Irish Catholicness, all our studying of both
religion and literature, all our beer drinking
and Bloodshot Record listening, all our
having Tracy 'legs' Powell as a common
roommate-- passed like ships in the night
before this year. My friendship w/ Jen has
been a long time coming, but thank God it
got here when it did... in time for Neko Case,
next month's theosophical society meeting,
and the much-anticipated (by me at least)
dose of lager, estrogen empathy and good-
humor that Jen brings, w/ great capability
and grace, in my direction...
by a bunch of punks who undeniably know
Jen better than I do (not having seen her in
2 years) I am thinking "oh god! damn! i want
her for MY beer buddy, but --so far away...."
I wish I was her beer buddy. Other things:
Jen does have the most singuarly beautiful
undulating gait I have seen; she is quite
graceful. The memory of her that always
pops to mind: running out of a class in a vile
and misanthropic mood, bumping into her
smiling self, shouting "DON'T talk to me! I
am in a VERY BAD MOOD." and then dying
of shame until I saw her next and learned
that she'd found that little moment
"refreshing" rather than hurtful. It's slightly
unnerving for me to imagine how much Jen
looks around and thinks about things, not
really knowing, as I don't, what she's
thinking. I hope I see her this season.
current-events column. I check it
often because it is more interesting
than Access Hollywood. "What's Jen
reading now?" is right up there
with "What's happening in Get Fuzzy
today?" She consumes culture faster
than I consume a chai latte. I should
have had more chai and chats with Jen,
but dumby that I am, I live far away
now. Get your Jen-fix while you can!
